In the Polymer Membrane Lab at the Department of Polymers at UCT Prague, our main focus is on the preparation of polymeric materials for anion exchange membranes (AEMs) used in alkaline water electrolysers, as well as membranes for other applications. We strive to achieve high performance membranes and tailor their structure and properties through two key approaches: synthesis of polytriazoles and polyimides. Our research begins with the synthesis of building blocks such as functionalized diamines, diazides, dialkynes, etc. This is then followed by the synthesis of alternating and block copolymers with well-defined structures. In this manner, we are able to explore a wide range of possibilities and optimize the performance of polymeric materials.
